Windows Emulators for Chromebook?

I’m looking for a good Windows emulator for my HP Chromebook. It can’t be an online emulator, and it can’t be too resource-heavy or cost money (I’m broke).

Any suggestions for lightweight and free emulators? That’s all!

Wine is a popular option for running Windows applications on non-Windows systems, and while it can be a bit tricky to set up, it’s free!

You can use Wine to run many Windows programs on your Chromebook without having to pay for a subscription.

The setup might be a little technical, but there are plenty of tutorials out there to guide you through the process.

@Jasminepuno If you’re okay with running Linux alongside Chrome OS, Crouton is a solid choice.

Crouton allows you to run a Linux environment on your Chromebook, and you can install Wine or PlayOnLinux to emulate Windows apps.

It’s lightweight and free, and while it’s not technically a Windows emulator, it provides a workaround to run Windows software.

You can set up VirtualBox on your Chromebook via Linux, allowing you to run a Windows virtual machine.

This might be a bit more resource-intensive, but it’s free.

The key is making sure your Chromebook has the required hardware support for virtualization, and the setup process involves installing Linux and configuring VirtualBox to run a Windows VM.
