I am using tags in my capability but I cannot see those tags when trying to use the filter option on dashboard. Why is this happening?

We support both build as well as test tags since the capability used is for tags I understand that you are talking about test stage. In order to filter out on the basis of test tags, open any test in a particular build, on the top you will find an option to browser tests.
As soon as you click on browse tests, you will get an option to filter using tags.
