What’s the best platform for creating a portfolio website as a designer?

Hello everyonee!!

I’m a web designer with experience using Adobe Suite to design websites, but I’ve never actually built a site before—I usually hand over my designs to developers. Now I want to create my own portfolio website, and I started with WordPress, but I’m feeling limited in terms of creative control.

Should I stick with WordPress, or try something like Webflow? What’s the best platform for a designer who wants full creative control and doesn’t have a lot of coding experience?

Would love to hear your experiences and recommendations on the best platform for achieving full creative control for a designer!

Hi!! If you’re feeling restricted with WordPress, Webflow might indeed be a perfect fit for you.

It’s a no-code platform with a lot of flexibility, allowing you to design visually while still being able to customize and control your site’s functionality.

Webflow’s design freedom is especially great for designers because it lets you translate your Adobe Suite prototypes into live websites with ease.

Give Webflow a try! It may turn out to be just the thing you needed😊

Hi @anusha_gg.

Webflow is good one @Ambikayache, I’ll give you that. Though I have another option which is Squarespace, an user-friendly that still allows for decent customization.

It’s great for creating a clean and professional-looking portfolio.

While it may not be as flexible as Webflow in some aspects, Squarespace is intuitive and will save you a lot of time if you don’t want to dive too deep into coding.

Plus, it offers beautifully designed templates tailored specifically for portfolios.

Thanks. Hope you find this useful! :raised_hands:

Hello again to @anusha_gg and everyone involved in this discussion about website platforms – jumping back in after the insights shared on Webflow by @Ambikayache and Squarespace @babitakumari! Finding that sweet spot for design flexibility when you’re used to tools like Adobe Suite is key.

If you want something a bit more advanced but still user-friendly, consider WordPress with Elementor.

Elementor is a drag-and-drop builder for WordPress that gives you more creative control compared to the default WordPress editor.

It allows you to build custom layouts without needing to code.

You can create more unique, sophisticated designs while still working within the WordPress ecosystem.

Hope this adds a compelling option to your list for achieving greater visual control over your portfolio site within the familiar WordPress environment! Give Elementor a look to see the possibilities! :sparkles:
