What factors should be considered when making a website accessible?

Hi Aaron!

Before making a website accessible, you must first identify the specific needs of your target audience. A website should be built in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).

The following are the factors to consider when making a website accessible.

  • Vision impairments: Poor vision, Color blindness, and other Visual challenges like visual strobe and flashing effect.

  • Physical disabilities: Unable to use mouse or keyboard, poor motor functions.

  • Hearing disabilities: Deafness and partial hearing.

  • Reading impairments: Reading challenges.

  • Cognitive disabilities: Weak memory and Learning challenges.
