Jest is basically the go-to testing framework for JavaScript projects. It’s fast, works great with React, and has zero setup for most cases. What makes it awesome is the built-in mocking and snapshot testing, saves tons of time during UI testing.

I use Jest mainly for frontend unit testing. It’s super developer-friendly, comes with a built-in test runner, assertion library, and mock support.

You don’t need to install multiple packages like in Mocha or Jasmine. Just run npx jest and you’re good.

Follow this guide on Jest testing tutorial and get started with your unit testing with Jest.

Jest is all about simplicity. It’s opinionated but smart , especially the watch mode that reruns only affected tests.

If you’re doing React or Node.js work, Jest gives you great debugging and coverage tools out of the box.
