Is there a Chrome extension similar to Firefox's "Tree Style Tab"?

The “Tree Style Tab” extension in Firefox significantly boosted my desktop productivity by automatically grouping new tabs under the origin tab and making them collapsible. I’ve seen some bad alternatives for Chrome, but does anyone know if there’s a working, good extension that offers similar functionality?

Absolutely! From my experience, if you’re looking for something similar to Firefox’s ‘Tree Style Tab,’ I’d recommend trying the Chrome extension ‘Tablerone’. It does a pretty good job of mimicking that tree-like structure you’re used to.

With ‘Tablerone’, you can group your tabs in a way that’s similar to Firefox’s system, and it even supports nested tabs, so managing multiple tabs becomes a breeze. While it may not be as polished as the Firefox version, it’s definitely one of the top alternatives available for Chrome right now.

Right, and if ‘Tablerone’ doesn’t quite meet your needs, you could also give ‘Tree Style Tab for Chrome’ a go. I’ve tested it myself, and while it’s still under development, it brings a tree structure to your Chrome tabs, just like the one in Firefox. Tabs nest under their parent tab, which helps a lot with organizing and keeping things clean. It’s not as feature-complete as Firefox’s version yet, but if you’re keen on replicating that tree-style workflow, it’s worth a try.

Great suggestions so far! I’ve also come across ‘Toby for Chrome’, which isn’t exactly like ‘Tree Style Tab’ but has some similar features that could work for you. It’s more of a visual organizer, where you can group tabs into customizable collections.

You can drag and drop tabs into these collections, which makes managing your tabs really intuitive, especially if you’re more into organizing visually rather than nesting them in a tree structure. It doesn’t support automatic nesting, but it’s still a solid option if you’re looking to store and organize your tabs for future sessions.
