Is it really necessary to learn Selenium to get a job in automation?

Can anyone please suggest me whether it is necessary to learn Selenium to get a job in automation.

No. But its good to know. Though you can always prove to be a good learner to the interviewer. Grid requires a lot of infrastructure set up which generally companies don’t provide, so you should be good enough by just keeping good hands-on of selenium automation framework and its components to crack an interview. Also, if you want to stand apart, keep required knowledge of devops tools, atleast jenkins. You should know in and out of your Automation framework such as how data is read, how a tests is triggered, how reports are generated, how the executions are configured etc. Lastly, the more you know the better it is. So if you can learn grid, learn it but as per my experience, it doesn’t stop you from moving ahead.
