The shadow DOM is a JavaScript API that allows you to create encapsulated ā€œcomponentsā€ within webpage content. The shadow DOM allows you to create full-featured custom elements that will be displayed separately from the page content with their CSS style independent of the content they are inside.

Using the concept of shadow DOM, developers can now build web components that are highly portable and reusable.
