How does automated accessibility improve usability?

We want our site to be more usable for people with disabilities, and we’re exploring automated accessibility testing. How exactly does it improve real usability, and what metrics should we track?

Automated accessibility testing helped us spot issues we didn’t even realize were affecting real users. Things like missing labels, low contrast text, or broken keyboard navigation showed up immediately. Fixing those improved overall usability for everyone, not just users with disabilities

What really changed things for our team was making accessibility part of our regular test cycle. When checks run automatically in CI, developers get fast feedback and start thinking about accessibility while writing code. Over time, we saw fewer usability complaints and better engagement metrics.

We also started using LambdaTest for automated accessibility checks alongside functional tests. You can perform automation accessibilty testing with LambdaTest, which makes it easier to catch WCAG issues early and ensure accessibility doesn’t become an afterthought.
