Any team’s ultimate goal is to produce high-quality software, and to do that you need to to write the tests. When you have exploratory testers who may lack the expertise, time, resources, etc. to write automated tests, you have to rely on developers to write quality tests.
But the underlying question is— is it more productive for developers to build the tests for the new feature they’re working on or not?
