Not only testers, it’s a natural instinct of people to help others working in their community improve. For example, Stack Overflow.
But yes, the testers community has a wide reach and they are more generous towards other members of the community (as I have felt).
According to me, the major reason for that is because testers are not concentrated on a particular language. Instead they are more curious to solve a test scenario in more than one language.
